Alpine, the storied French marque with deep motorsport roots, has long been synonymous with lightweight, agile performance.

Founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, Alpine built its reputation on rally-bred machines such as the iconic A110, which famously claimed victory in the inaugural World Rally Championship in 1973. The brand later went quiet before being revived by Renault in the 2010s, bringing the A110 back as a modern interpretation of the lightweight sports car ethos.

Now, Alpine is moving decisively into the electric era with the A290 GTS, a hot hatch designed to reinterpret the formula for the EV generation. It aims to deliver the responsiveness, agility, and driver-focused character that define the Alpine name — but with an all-electric powertrain at its core.
